Cooking Class
Information 2008
| FORMAT - Demonstration Classes -Apart from those marked "practical" or "demonstration with hands on", all the classes in the 2008 schedule are demonstrations. All are held in Victoria's own kitchen at Pyon House and numbers are limited to a maximum of 25 so that everyone can see clearly. The day is split into 2 sessions with a relaxed break in the middle for a drink and lunch in the dining room. Everyone is encouraged to contribute or ask questions. A selection of cookware and cookbooks, personally chosen and used by Victoria, is on sale at all classes. | ![]() |
| Format - "Getting a Feel for it" These classes comprise a demonstration by Victoria in the morning, followed by an (early-ish) lunch with a drink in the dining room, then a practical hands-on session afterwards. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 15. Aprons and any other necessary equipment will be provided. |
| Format - Practical Classes These are also held in Victoria's own kitchen and numbers here are limited to 10 to allow plenty of space and personal attention from Victoria. Students generally work in groups of two, but once again there is time for a relaxing lunch in the dining room before the shorter afternoon session. |

Timing All the classes in
this programme are daytime classes. Demonstration classes start at 10.30 a.m. (morning
coffee from 10.00 a.m.), practical at 10.00 a.m. All classes aim to finish
between 3.00 and 3.30 p.m. but can occasionally run on a little longer.
Fees Victoria's demonstrations cost £35.00 per place. Practical Classes are £65.00. Guest Chefs are £75.00 |
Each fee includes morning coffee, a set of printed recipes and full tasting of all the dishes at lunch, including a glass of wine. Payment is due with your booking, and we are glad to accept cheques, cash, Mastercard, Visa, Maestro or Solo. Credit card bookings are welcome by telephone or fax. |

Bring a Friend and Save !! We now offer a reduction on the standard fees for group bookings at all the classes. This could be more bookings for yourself, or several people for the same class. As part of four or more bookings each demonstration class fee will be only £30.00, or £35.00 for "Getting a Feel for it" classes, and £60.00 for Mary Berry. For Practical Classes (£60.00) the reduction is for bookings of 2 or more places. Gift Vouchers valid for any class(es) are always available - ideal for Christmas, birthday or anniversary. All gift vouchers are presented in an attractive card on a food-related theme. Please ring and discuss what you would like. Location The cooking classes are held at Pyon House, Canon Pyon, Hereford. | Overnight
Accommodation If you are coming a long way, or would like to spend extra time in this
lovely part of the country, we can now offer Bed & Breakfast accommodation in our own
self-contained cottage annexe. Please ring Victoria for any further information or to make
a booking. Price per night for B&B is £70.00 for the whole cottage
(sleeping 1 or 2 people) or £85.00 per night for 3 or 4 people.
We can also now offer our cottage for self-catering holiday lets throughout the year. Prices from £225 per week in low season to £375 per week in high season. |

| Cancellation We regret we cannot refund fees once the booking is confirmed, but a transfer to another class is a possibility providing your request is received at least 28 days before the date of the class originally booked. If you are unable on the day to attend a booked class yourself you are always welcome to send someone else in your place. | |
